Honest conversations don't need alcohol. They need a bloody good beer and the right crew.

Our story

MEN DON'T WALK INTO THERAPY. THEY WALK INTO BARS.

So that's where we went. I'm 55. Ex-banker, ex-lawyer, business owner. I built LOFB after coming out the other side of my own mental health battle and a suicide attempt. I didn't find my way back through a clinic. I found it the way most men do, I sat with brothers who understood, doing something ordinary, until the hard stuff came out sideways. I dropped the mask and the heaviness lifted. That's the thing nobody tells you. Men don't open up because someone asks them to. We open up when we feel safe, respected and in control, doing the things men already do. A good beer. Maybe a cigar. Mates who've got your back and won't make it weird. The ritual is the key. Always was. I just needed to find the unlock.

So we built the beer for it. Zero alcohol, so it works on a Tuesday and you're still good the next morning. End of shift, boots off, clear-headed and honest. And bloody good, so you'd order it anyway. 40% of our net profit goes to men's mental health NGOs for military, veterans and first responders, who've given the rest of us plenty. I'm not asking you to talk. I'm just pulling up a chair with an open invite….

No influencer budget, no ad spend. 100% organic. We put LOFB in a handful of bars and bottle shops in Tampa and Miami and they found thier way into Cigar lounges, bars, back patios, fire houses and clubhouses. Men found LOFB before we even ran a single ad — thats how the movement started.

"Love the flavour and love the mission. Not enough brands around with this type of focus"
– Keith B.
"Tried LOFB Hazy IPA form a friend who recommended it. Absolutely love the fruity note and not to mention what these guys are doing for men's mental health"
– Mark P.
"Every Sunday my friends and I gather at the local park with one of these in hand. We have turned this moment into a weekly ritual where we share what's going on in our lives while sipping on an LOFB."
– Jonathan S.

Any last questions?

Why does your NA beer taste so good?

Because we set out to brew a beer, not a compromise. Real malt, real hops, with an arrested fermentation process - Citra, Mosaic, Azacca and Simcoe in the Golden; Northern Brewer and Saaz in the Hazy. Most NA beer tastes thin because nobody ever expected it to be good, only to be zero. Ours has to hold its own in a room full of blokes who'd tell us straight if it didn't. Nothing goes out the door if it doesn't pass that test.

Does non-alcoholic beer actually have alcohol in it?

In the US, "non-alcoholic" legally means under 0.5% ABV, and that's where LOFB sits. IN the USA It's not 0.0%, and that's a choice: stripping a beer all the way to zero takes flavour with it. We'd rather hand you something worth drinking than win a decimal point.
For scale, small amounts of alcohol turn up naturally in things nobody thinks twice about:
— Ripe bananas
— Orange juice
— Sourdough bread
— Kombucha
— Yoghurt

You'd have to put away a genuinely silly volume, faster than your body clears it, to feel anything at all. But if you're avoiding alcohol completely — recovery, pregnancy, medication, faith, a zero-tolerance licence — that trace matters, and you deserve to know it's there. That's your call to make, not ours to talk you out of.
We are looking at partnering with specialist manufacturers overseas to supply countries whose faith and social requirements require a pure 0.0%. So watch out for that !

When do I drink it?

End of shift. Boots off. That hour between finishing work and being any use to anyone at home. The 19th hole. The back patio. Sunday sport. Thursday at the lounge. Simple version: any time you'd have had a beer and then paid for it the next morning. Or any time you want and honest clear headed chat with a brother. That's the gap we're filling.

Do I have to be sober to drink this?

No. Most men drinking LOFB aren't quitting anything. They're forty-to fifty odd, they've got an early start, and four beers now costs them the whole next day in a way it didn't at twenty-five. This isn't a replacement for beer. It's the beer for the nights you'd like to still be there in the morning.

Why men's mental health?

Because our founder nearly didn't make it, and what brought him back wasn't a clinic. It was a chair, a cigar, and men who'd been where he'd been. Men don't walk into therapy. They walk into bars. So that's where we went.

What's with the name?

League of Fat Bastards started with the fact that Adam wanted to find new ways for men to “chew the fat” i.e. have a conversation, our desire to create a sense of belonging i.e. the league, and a “bastard” is just someone who is straight up, honest and a little bit cheeky and so it stuck, because it was honest. Nobody in I t is pretending to be an athlete or rockstar , or living on the Amalfi coast . It's for blokes who like a good beer, maybe a good cigar but values each other's company - and who've worked out that looking after your head isn't the same as giving things up. If the name puts someone off, they were never what we are.

Will it give me a hangover?

No. Under 0.5% doesn't do anything to you overnight — no headache, no fog, no writing off Saturday. The only thing you'll wake up with is the memory of the conversation.

Where can I buy it?

Golden and Hazy IPA are in market now, in 6-packs. Either purchase online here or use the stockist finder to see what's near you. Also tell us where you drink and we'll go after that door.
